We finally got back up onto the glacier today after two days of huge storms Of course we had lost the Signal in those storms but there was surprisingly little other damage to show for 36 hours of pouring rain! It did seem to have snowed above about 3,400m:
We skied most of the time from about 3,300m – 3,400m and the snow stayed quite respectable most of the morning. We were trying to make up for yesterday, and we did! We skied 4 hours in two lessons – gosh!
It was cold compared to the temperatures we’ve been used to, and quite windy, so not the very nicest day. The fog was also rolling around all morning, so sometimes it was sunny and sometimes you could hardly see anything:
Here is a little video of Tim and Joe skiing today. It was shot on my phone, so I’m quite pleased with it.
I shall next be up on the glacier on Tuesday 13th August, so will post more photos and reports then.
